Action film "Confidential Assignment 2: International” surpassed 6 million in ticket sales, according to the Korea Box Office Information System (Kobis) on Sunday.

The film hit local theaters on Sept. 7 and became the third Korean film this year to garner over 6 million moviegoers, following “The Roundup” and “Hansan: Rising Dragon.”

It took 26 days for “Confidential Assignment 2: International” to pass the 6 million mark, which is also the quickest Korean film to reach the mark in 2022.

“Confidential Assignment 2: International” is a sequel to the 2017 film "Confidential Assignment," which told the story of a South Korean detective, played by Hyun Bin, and North Korean detective, played by Yoo Hai-jin, who go on an unofficial cooperative mission when a North Korean crime ring hides in South Korea. The film was successful, selling 7.81 million tickets.

"Confidential Assignment 2: International" also stars Daniel Henney as Jack, an FBI agent, Jin Seon-kyu as the leader of a crime gang and Lim Yoon-a as Yoo's sister-in-law who develops a crush on Hyun Bin's detective.
