Singer, actor Lee Seung-gi to marry actor Lee Da-in on April 7
Singer and actor Lee Seung-gi and actor Lee Da-in will tie the knot on April 7, according to a handwritten letter uploaded on Lee Seung-gi's Instagram Tuesday.
The two have been in a relationship for three years. Their relationship was made public in 2021 after local entertainment news outlet Dispatch broke the news.
“Hello, it's Lee Seung-gi. I feel like there have been many instances this year that require me to write long texts,” he wrote in his Instagram post.
"I want to tell you the most important decision of my life," he continued. "I decided to spend the rest of my life with Lee Da-in, whom I love, as a married couple, not just as lovers. I proposed and she said yes. Now that I have someone to be responsible for, for the rest of my life, I wanted to tell you this happy news myself."
"Please cheer for our future. We'll live happily and keep on giving. Thank you."
His bride-to-be is five years his senior. Lee Da-in is also known as the second daughter of veteran actor Kyun Mi-ri. Her older sister Lee Yu-bi is also an actor.
Lee Seung-gi was embroiled in a legal battle with his former agency at the end of last year. Hook Entertainment admitted that it failed to pay the singer his earnings. Lee has been a popular singer since his debut in 2004 and released a total of 137 songs over the past 18 years, but it was found that he had not received any payment for the digital streams or downloads of his songs.
The agency since paid 5.4 billion won ($4.12 million) for the digital streams and downloads of his songs. Lee pledged to donate the entire amount to charity and has remained true to his word, donating 2 billion won to the Seoul National University Children’s Hospital, 550 million won to the Korean Red Cross and most recently, 300 million won to research university KAIST.
