Apink's Bomi and songwriter Rado confirmed to be dating
Apink’s Bomi and songwriter Rado of producer duo B.E.P. are dating, their agencies said Tuesday.
"The two are in a relationship," Bomi's agency, Choi Creative Lab, and Rado's agency, Highup Entertainment, said in a joint statement. The agencies did not confirm the details reported by entertainment outlet Dispatch, such as the duration of their relationship, saying they were "private matters."
Early Tuesday morning, Dispatch first reported that the two had been dating for seven years since April 2017. They first met while recording Apink’s song “Only One,” the lead track from the girl group’s third full-length album “Pink Revolution."
Shortly before the couples' respective agencies released their joint statement, Bomi uploaded a photo of a handwritten letter to Apink's fandom, named Pink Panda, onto the group's fan club website.
She apologized for surprising her fans with the abrupt news but asked for their support moving forward.
"We developed feelings for each other while working on a lot of songs together," the singer said. "I have grown into a more mature and healthy person through meeting [Rado], who is a wise and knowledgeable person."
B.E.P. is credited with composing, writing the lyrics and arranging “Only One.” Rado has previously mentioned in a show that the song holds a special place in his heart.
Bomi made her debut as a member of Apink in 2011. She currently stars as Na Chae-yeon, the secretary to actor Kim Ji-won’s character, in the tvN drama series “Queen of Tears.”
Songwriter and composer Rado is the co-founder of his label, Highup Entertainment. He is the producer behind the girl group STAYC and is credited for hits such as “Teddy Bear” (2023). Over his 15-year career since 2009, Rado has been credited for songs for multiple K-pop acts including Twice, Itzy, Sistar and Beast.
