Applications open for youth support program from Seventeen and Unesco
Applications for the youth support initiative jointly created by boy band Seventeen and Unesco opened on Monday, in tandem with International Youth Day.
The “Going Together — For Youth Creativity and Well-Being” initiative seeks to support 100 youth-led innovative projects “spread across five continents that address challenges the youth faces today,” Seventeen said in a video uploaded on Unesco’s YouTube channel on Monday.
The program aims to “support innovative projects that promote confidence and resilience through music, arts and sports, foster creative community building and enhance mental health and well-being,” according to the video’s description.
“Capacity strengthening and mentoring will also be offered to help [the youth who applied] to implement their projects,” said the boy band.
The initiative is part of Unesco’s newly launched Global Youth Grant Scheme program, which supports youth-led initiatives worldwide, focusing on the well-being and development of young people globally.
Seventeen said it would donate $1 million to the Global Youth Grant Scheme program, following its appointment as Unesco’s first goodwill ambassador for youth on June 26.
Applications to the initiative are made through Unesco’s website.
