BTS won Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards (AMAs) on Monday — the second time that the group has nabbed the grand prize at the awards.

The band won against some of the biggest names in pop music, including Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.

BTS became the first Asian act to receive the top award in 2021. That year, it also won Favorite Duo or Group and Favorite Pop Song with its megahit “Butter.”

The band was nominated in two other categories this year: Best Male K-pop Artist and the flagship Artist of the Year award. The septet also won Song of the Summer award with “Swim,” released in March.

Earlier in the day, “Golden” (2025) by fictional girl group HUNTR/X from “KPop Demon Hunters” (2025) won Song of the Year.

Update, May 26: Included BTS's win for Artist of the Year.
