EXO's Baekhyun apologizes for smoking indoors
Singer Baekhyun of boy band EXO apologized for smoking indoors.
A video of Baekhyun smoking indoors went viral on X, formerly known as Twitter, over the weekend. The video garnered over 12 million views as of Tuesday morning.
The video was taken in June in Macau after his concert, according to the agency.
"We sincerely apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable by our artist Baekhyun smoking indoors," the agency said in a statement.
"Neither Baekhyun or our staff realized that Macau prohibited e-cigarettes. And as the dinner went on after the performance, [he] used the e-cigarette unconsciously."
"Baekhyun is sincerely sorry for his imprudent actions and bows his head down to the fans that he has disappointed," added the agency.
Baekhyun debuted in 2012 as a member of boy band EXO and began his solo career in 201 with the first EP “City Lights.”
The artist launched his own agency, INB100, in January and has signed bandmates Chen and Xiumin to the company, following a legal dispute with his former agency, SM Entertainment.
The three filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment executives in June, accusing them of violating Korea's Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes.
