(G)I-DLE celebrates sixth anniversary with pop-up cafe in Seongsu-dong
Girl group (G)I-DLE is celebrating its sixth anniversary since debut with a pop-up cafe in Seongsu-dong, eastern Seoul, which opened Thursday and will run through May 8.
The pop-up is open on the first floor of Cubi Story, according to the group’s agency Cube Entertainment in a press release Thursday — the day of the group’s debut anniversary. The cafe was designed with a (G)I-DLE theme and sells merchandise featuring the group.
The group members also thanked their fans for their continued support through their agency’s press release.
“It feels like we just debuted yesterday. Time has gone so fast that us reaching our sixth anniversary seems unbelievable,” the group’s message read.
The members expressed their gratitude and love for their fans, collectively referred to as Neverland, and promised to become a better (G)-IDLE to give back the love that has been sent their way.
“Our (G)I-DLE, my family — let’s be together forever.”
(G)I-DLE debuted as a six-member group in 2018 under Cube Entertainment. Its current members are Miyeon, Soyeon, Yuqi, Shuhua and Minnie. (G)I-DLE is known for its hits — mostly composed and produced by the leader Soyeon — “Latata” (2019), “Lion” (2020), “DUMDi DUMDi” (2020), “Tomboy” (2022) and “Nxde” (2022).
