Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon, Apink's Bomi detained in Bali for unauthorized filming
Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon, Apink’s Bomi, television presenter Choi Hee and singer Lim Na-young, formerly of girl group I.O.I, have been detained in Bali, Indonesia for filming in unauthorized locations, according to local reports published Friday.
The four entertainers traveled to Bali on Sunday to shoot footage for KBS Joy’s upcoming travel show “Pick Me Trip in Bali.”
More than 30 cast and crew members, including the four stars, were reportedly detained while being screened for departure at an Indonesian airport because the production team had not received a permit from the Indonesian government to film in certain locations.
The team had reportedly issued tourist visas to the cast and crew. A separate permit for filming purposes is required for foreigners, and additional permits are necessary to shoot in certain locations including some natural reserves.
The celebrities have had their passports confiscated and are currently under investigation, media outlet Newsis reported.
“We received contact from the production staff accompanying [the cast] that they were supposed to arrive in Korea on [Friday] morning after boarding an evening flight on Thursday,” Lim’s agency, Mask Studio, told media outlet Osen.
“We last contacted the staff members [Friday] morning and were informed that they cannot return to Korea as of yet.”
A broadcast date for the show has not been confirmed, KBS Joy said.
