Highlight's Lee Gi-kwang to release single 'Reason' on Wednesday
Boy band Highlight member Lee Gi-kwang will release digital single “Reason” on Wednesday, his agency Around US Entertainment said Wednesday.
This will be the singer's first new music in 16 months since his first solo full-length album, “Predator,” was released in April 2023.
The digital singles has two tracks, the title track and “Regret.” Lee composed and wrote the lyrics to both songs.
“Reason” is a song with a catchy melody and a driving beat with lyrics that contemplate the good and bad of an ongoing relationship, said Around US Entertainment.
“Regret” is a ballad — a first for Lee’s career — with serendipitous melodies and calm mood featuring lyrics about expressing sorrow and apologies to a past lover, said the agency.
Lee will perform both songs in his upcoming solo concert “Obsessed,” which is set to be held over the weekend at Olympic Hall, Songpa District, southern Seoul.
Lee first made his debut as a solo artist-actor in 2009 under the stage name AJ in the MBC sitcom “High Kick Through the Roof” (2009-10). Lee then debuted as a member of boy band B2ST (Beast) on October 2009 under Cube Entertainment, known for hit songs “Fiction” (2011), “Beautiful Night” (2012), “Good Luck” (2014), “12:30” (2014) and more.
