IU surprised the residents of western Seoul's Sangam-dong by handing out garbage bags with a note asking for residents' understanding ahead of her upcoming concert at the World Cup Stadium over the weekend.

Multiple online users uploaded pictures of the garbage bags they received from IU on Friday, saying that the bags were hung outside the doors of houses near the stadium in Sangam-dong.

The pictures showed pink garbage bags contained within clear bags with the logo of IU's "The Winning" world tour series.

The bag also read, "IU's concert is taking place at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Sept. 21 and 22. We ask for the residents' kind understanding."

Online posts complimented the singer's consideration for residents. Residents living near major stadiums often complain of noise and the garbage left behind by concertgoers.

"I've lived here for over 10 years but I've never seen a singer who's asked for understanding from the residents," read one post.

IU will hold two performances at the World Cup Stadium on Saturday and Sunday for the "Hereh" world tour encore concert.
