Boy band Seventeen's Seungkwan will take a break from group activities due to health concerns.

"Seungkwan paid a visit to the doctors with health concerns and was advised to take adequate rest and breaks," his agency, Pledis Entertainment, said in a statement Monday.

"While [Seungkwan] himself has a strong will to continue his activities, the agency decided that he, as advised, should focus on recovering his health for the time being."

"Therefore, inevitably, it will be difficult for Seungkwan to attend the Tencent Music Entertainment Awards 2023, Seoul performance of Seventeen's tour, "Follow."

The agency also apologized to his fans and added it will support Seungkwan in his recovery and resumption of activities.

Seungkwan took a partial break from group activities due to health issues back in April, shortly after Moonbin from boy band Astro died. The two singers have been known to be close friends.

Seventeen will attend Tencent Music Entertainment Awards in Macau on Sunday, followed by "Follow" concert tour on July 21 and 22 at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro District, western Seoul.
