Stray Kids single 'Maniac' certified gold by RIAA
Boy band Stray Kids' 2022 hit "Maniac" was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), according to the band's agency JYP Entertainment on Wednesday.
The RIAA hands out gold certifications for digital singles or albums that sell over 500,000 units, platinum certification for over 1 million, multi-platinum certification for over 2 million and diamond certification for over 10 million.
This is the fourth gold certification for Stray Kids, following the full-length album “5-Star” (2023), EP “Rock-Star” (2023) and single “God’s Menu” (2020).
"Maniac" is part of the EP “Oddinary” (2022), which hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart 10 days after its release. Stray Kids have three other chart-topping albums, “Maxident” (2022), “5-Star” and “Rock-Star.”
Stray Kids will release its new single, “Lose My Breath (Feat. Charlie Puth),” on May 10 to kick off its summer comeback. The new song will be produced by the band's in-house producing team3RACHA, composed of members Bang Chan, Changbin and Han.
Stray Kids is set to headline overseas music festivals, including Milan's I-Days and London's British Summer Time Hyde Park in July, and Chicago's Lollapalooza Chicago in August. Tickets for Stray Kids' appearance day at Lollapalooza Chicago have currently sold out, according to JYP Entertainment.
