2NE1's Sandara Park refutes drug allegations by bandmate Park Bom
Girl group 2NE1 member Sandara Park has denied allegations that she used drugs after fellow member Park Bom made the accusation.
“I have never used drugs. I wish her well,” Sandara Park posted on her Instagram Story on Wednesday, in both Korean and English.
The post came a day after Park Bom made the claims against Sandara Park on social media via a handwritten letter on Tuesday.
“I’m being cautious in case this causes another uproar, but I feel troubled about the drug known as Adderall. It is not a narcotic. I am a patient with ADD [attention deficit disorder],” Park Bom said in the letter.
“Sandara Park was caught in a drug case and, to cover it up, made Park Bom into a drug addict.”
Adderall is a psychotropic medication used to treat ADD and related conditions. In 2010, Park Bom sparked controversy after importing Adderall — which is regulated in Korea — through international mail without declaring it to customs or receiving approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. At the time, prosecutors suspended the indictment after confirming that the medication had been prescribed for treatment.
Park Bom has suspended activities since August last year due to health issues. At the time, her agency D-Nation Entertainment said the decision was made after medical staff advised that she needed sufficient rest and stability.
