Male version of 'My Teenage Girls' may be live broadcast on YouTube
The male version of MBC’s K-pop audition show "My Teenage Girls" (2021-22), which is set to air simultaneously in Japan and Korea, may be live broadcast on YouTube.
The show’s production company Funky Studio said on Monday that it is currently considering live broadcasting the audition show’s episodes simultaneously on television and YouTube. The measure would provide easier access for international viewers outside of Korea and Japan.
The show is slated to air between February and March next year. Public voting for the idol contestants will be also open to people outside Korea.
The first female season of “My Teenage Girls” ended in February and had some 87,000 applicants. The top seven finalists — Won Ji-min, Kim Seon-you, Myung Hyeong-seo, Hong Hye-ju, Kim Ri-won, Park Bo-eun and Yoon Chae-won — went on to debut as girl group CLASS:y in May and will debut in Japan on June 22.
