Producers of male-version 'My Teenage Girls' meet with K-pop agencies ahead of show
The producers of the upcoming male version of MBC’s audition show “My Teenage Girls” (2021-22) will meet with 53 K-pop agencies in preparation for the show, according to the show’s production company Funky Studio on Monday.
“My Teenage Girls” produced girl group CLASS:y with the show’s seven finalists — Won Ji-min, Kim Seon-you, Myung Hyeong-seo, Hong Hye-ju, Kim Ri-won, Park Bo-eun and Yoon Chae-won — which debuted in May and has been seeing success. The second season featuring male contestants hopes to discover new talent to follow in CLASS:y’s footsteps.
According to the producers, the second season will feature more international contestants than “My Teenage Girls,” which mainly saw Korean hopefuls in its contestants and debut line up.
The show is slated to air between February and March next year and will air simultaneously in Korea and Japan. Public voting for the idol contestants will be also open to people outside Korea.
