Veteran K-pop act Big Bang said it has completed work on a new album to mark its 20th anniversary and will begin a world tour in August.

"This year marks Big Bang's 20th anniversary," leader G-Dragon told the audience during the trio's performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, on Sunday.

"Big Bang's 20th anniversary world tour will begin this August; it's going to be crazy, no doubt," he said. "So do not miss out and stay tuned."

The announcement marks the first official confirmation of both the album and tour plans. The band last held its Japanese Dome concert tour "Last Dance Tour" in 2017, while its last Asian tour was its 10th anniversary "BigBang10 The concert: 0.to.10" all the way back in 2016 and 2017.
