BTS's Jin to carry Olympic torch on Sunday by Louvre Museum
Jin of boy band BTS will carry the Olympic torch on Sunday evening in front of the Louvre Museum’s glass pyramid.
The BTS singer will be the first torchbearer in the Louvre Museum section of the 2024 Paris Olympics torch relay in Paris this weekend, reports said Saturday. Jin is expected to begin carrying the flame by the Louvre Pyramid at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, when the torch is expected to arrive at the French capital city.
The French domestic torch relay, which began on May 8 in Marseille, southern France, has been underway for more than two months.
Sunday marks France's Bastille Day, the French national holiday commemorating the storming of the Bastille prison during the French Revolution.
After its arrival, the torch will then travel through various parts of Paris until Monday. It will then return to the provinces before coming back to Paris for the opening ceremony on July 26.
Jin departed for France on Thursday to take part in the torch relay.
He completed his military service last month, becoming the first of the seven BTS members to do so.
