SHINee's Minho appointed as part of 'Olympic Friends'
Boy band SHINee member Minho has been appointed as part of the “Olympic Friends” program for the Paris Olympics.
“Olympic Friends” is an International Olympic Committee (IOC) program that allows famous figures outside the sports industry to “join the Olympic movement and spread the Olympic values,” according to the Olympics website.
Minho will watch the Olympics matches and “send his passion for Team Korea” during The Games, Minho’s agency SM Entertainment said Wednesday.
No specific events or activities of Minho as part of the “Olympic Friends” have been disclosed as of Wednesday.
Minho has been previously selected for “Olympic Friends” for the Gangwon 2024 Youth Olympic Games in February. He served as the torchbearer in Chuncheon, Gangwon and also met with luge athletes, trying out the sport himself as part of the program.
Minho will take the role of Nam Tae-pyeong, a character who lives life as he pleases, in the upcoming JTBC drama “Romance in the House,” which premieres on Aug. 10 at 10:30 p.m. He will also take on the role of Val in the play “Waiting for Waiting for Godot,” opening at the Yes24 Stage in Jongno District, central Seoul, on Sept. 7, marking his debut on the theater stage.
