Streaming service FLO to kick off daily concerts
Music streaming service FLO will start a daily series of online concerts from Saturday, revealing a total of 100 bands that will take part through its app and YouTube channel.
FLO, run by SK Telecom, will start its "stage&FLO: Hongdae" series as an online version of the "stage&FLO" project that it had run in the past as a way to provide smaller indie bands — which especial populate the young Hongdae neighborhood of western Seoul — a chance to perform on a bigger stage.
The online version has the same aim, but also hopes to add some life to the performing arts scene that is struggling amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Every day from Saturday, fans can watch a different indie band perform live at 6 p.m. through the FLO app and its YouTube channel "Cake Pop."
Acts will span from popular bands such as Yun DDan DDan, Jambinai, No Brain and Broccoli, you too? to solo singers such as Lee Hee-moon, Seo Samuel, Lee Bada, Ahn Ye-eun and Yoon Hyun-sang.
The band SURL, which recently released its single "Ferris Wheel" under Happy Robot Records, will be first to perform on Saturday.
