NCT's Mark announces debut solo album, first single '200' dropping in May
Boy band NCT Dream's Mark will release his first solo album in February next year, with his debut solo single, "200," dropping on May 16.
Mark’s upcoming single comes eight years after he debuted as a member of boy band NCT U in 2016, a subunit of NCT. He has since released NCT album songs that only feature his vocals, such as “Child” (2022) and “Golden Hour” (2023), but it will be the first time he will carry out activities as a solo artist.
The single will consist of two songs: the title track “200” and the B-side “200 (Minhyung’s Ver.)”, with Minhyung being the Canadian rapper’s Korean name.
The singer uploaded a video of himself singing an acoustic version of “200,” accompanied by guitar instrumentals, at midnight on Thursday.
Mark is currently preparing the solo album with the aim of releasing it in February next year, as stated by his agency SM Entertainment in a press release on Friday.
“It will candidly show off his own world of music which has been expanded through his previous music endeavors,” the agency said.
Mark is currently active as a member of NCT subunit NCT Dream. The band will kick off its first Japanese arena tour, titled “The Dream Show 3: Dream( )scape,” with two concerts at the Kyosera Dome over the weekend.
