Seventeen cancels Beijing fan event due to plane malfunction

Boy band Seventeen [PLEDIS ENTERTAINMENT]

Boy band Seventeen canceled its signing event with fans in Beijing on Monday after its flight was canceled due to a plane malfunction.

"We decided to cancel the signing event after careful consideration, prioritizing the safety of the artists," the event organizer, Yizhiyu Entertainment, said Monday.

An alternative plane could not be scheduled, according to Yizhiyu Entertainment.

“We will reimburse fans who traveled for the Beijing offline fan sign event for their transportation and accommodation cancellation costs,” said Yizhiyu Entertainment. The company also said it will update the revised schedule for the fan sign event as soon as possible.

“To our fans, Carat, in Beijing, I am truly sorry,” said The8 in a post on Weverse, according to media reports. “I know it wasn't easy for everyone to arrive on such a hot day, and I'm aware of all the preparations you made for our meeting.”

Seventeen hosted its fan meet and greet, “Seventeen in Carat Land,” on July 23 and 24 at Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro District, western Seoul. The boy band will start its "Right Here" world tour in October, performing in Asia and the United States.
