Boy band Vanner named city ambassadors of Daejeon
Boy band Vanner will champion Daejeon as the city's ambassadors, the band's agency KLAP Entertainment said on Thursday.
The band was designated as ambassadors of Daejeon on Wednesday under a two-year contract. The members will promote the city's public events, such as the Daejeon Zero O'Clock Festival, their agency said.
“We are delighted and honored to have the opportunity to promote Daejeon,” the band said. “We will work in body and mind to aid events that promote Daejeon."
Band member Hyesung, who hails from Daejeon, also said he was grateful for the opportunity to work as an ambassador for Daejeon. "I will [aim to] grow as an artist who not only promotes Daejeon but also spreads positive influence," he promised.
Vanner debuted in February 2019 under VT Entertainment and signed with its current agency KLAP Entertainment after winning JTBC's survival show "Peak Time" (2023), which shed light on already-debuted but lesser-known boy bands. The band has five members: Taehwan, Gon, Hyesung, Ahxian and Yeonggwang.
The band dropped its second EP, “Capture the Flag,” with the lead track “Jackpot" in January. It topped iTunes global charts in the Philippines and Colombia.
