Red Velvet's Irene renews contract with SM Entertainment
Red Velvet’s Irene renewed her exclusive contract with SM Entertainment, the agency said Wednesday.
“Irene renewed her contract with SM based on her deep trust in the agency and will be engaging in a variety of activities in the future with the full support of SM,” the agency said in a press release Wednesday.
“I’ve decided to renew my contract as I trust SM and the staff at the agency, who I have worked with since my debut and helped me make who I am today,” Irene said.
“As I send my gratitude to our fans who have been relentlessly supporting Red Velvet, I plan to [do my best] this year alongside the members [of Red Velvet].”
Red Velvet's Seulgi renewed her contract with SM Entertainment last August.
Red Velvet debuted in 2014 with its first single “Happiness.” The group currently has five members: Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy and Yeri. The group is known for hit tracks “Red Flavor” (2017), “Power Up” (2018), “Feel My Rhythm” (2022) and more.
The group will be performing at SM Entertainment’s in-house concert, “SMTOWN Live 2024 SMCU Palace @ Tokyo,” at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan on Feb. 21 and 22.
