Rookie boy band NEXZ to release first Japanese EP on Aug. 21
Rookie boy band NEXZ will release its first Japanese EP “Ride the Vibe (Japanese Ver.) / Keep on Moving” on Aug. 21, its agency JYP Entertainment said on Tuesday.
The three-track EP will have two title tracks, "Keep on Moving" and "Ride the Vibe (Japanese Ver.)," as well as the Japanese version of "Miracle." "Ride the Vibe" was released in Korean on May 20, and "Miracle" was released in December last year.
“Keep on Moving” has been featured in a commercial for the Japanese drink Aquarius, and JYP Entertainment lead producer Park Jin-young participated in the lyrics and production of the song.
“Ride the Vibe (Japanese Ver.) ” is an “easy-experimental song that fuses elements of hip-hop rhythms with electronica music,” according to JYP Entertainment. “Miracle” was used for the final stage performance in the second season of JYP Entertainment’s audition program “Nizi Project“ (2023), which formed NEXZ last December.
There will be an additional bonus track included in some limited physical editions of the EP, according to JYP Entertainment.
NEXZ debuted as a seven-member boy band with six Japanese members — Tomoya, Yu, Seita, Hyui, Haru and Yuki — and one Korean member, So Geon.
NEXZ is set to go on a Japan showcase tour “Ride the Vibe,” starting on Aug. 3 and 4 at Marine Messe Fukuoka Hall B. The boy band will then perform at EDION Arena Osaka on Aug. 17 and 18 and Musashino Forest Sport Plaza Main Arena on Aug. 24 and 25.
