Singer-actor Kim Se-jeong to drop new album, go on first solo tour in September
Singer and actor Kim Se-jeong will release an album and begin her first solo concert tour next month, her agency Jellyfish Entertainment said Tuesday.
The tour, dubbed "The Door," will begin with two concerts in Seoul on Sept. 23 and 24, followed by performances in 10 other regions, including Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.
This will be Kim's first official solo concert series after holding a series of meet-and-greet events with fans in Asia last year.
Kim will be performing new songs from her upcoming album, also to drop in September, in the concerts. Details of the album were not given yet.
"Kim Se-jeong is giving her best efforts to give a fun and touching time to fans, as this will be her first solo concert," Jellyfish Entertainment said in a press release.
Kim began her career in 2016 by competing on the Mnet K-pop survival show "Produce 101." She ranked second overall and joined project girl group I.O.I later that year. After the yearlong contract ended, she joined her second girl group, Gugudan, which disbanded in late 2020.
Since then, she has focused on acting, starring in shows such as OCN's "The Uncanny Counter" (2020–21) and SBS's "A Business Proposal" (2022).
