Highlight return with new album 'Switch On' after 16-month hiatus
Boy band Highlight will release a new album for the first time in nearly a year and a half.
The EP, titled "Switch On," will drop on March 11, the band's agency Around Us Entertainment said on Monday.
This marks the band's first collective release in one year and four months since its EP “After Sunset” dropped in November 2022.
The trailer video for the title track of “Switch On” and the schedule for the band’s promotional activities for the EP was posted on the group’s social media page at midnight on Sunday.
"Highlight, which approaches its 15th year since its debut, is returning to its comeback activities with a special mindset," the agency said.
Highlight debuted as Beast, a six-member band, under Cube Entertainment in 2009 with its first EP “Beast is the B2ST.” The band established its current agency Around Us Entertainment in 2017, and as Highlight started its first activities with EP “Can You Feel It?” (2017) with the lead single “Plz Don’t Be Sad.”
Member Jang Hyun-seung left the band in 2017 after leaving Cube Entertainment and member Yong Jun-hyung left the band in 2019. The current Highlight members — Yoon Du-jun, Yang Yo-seop, Lee Gi-kwang and Son Dong-woon — have all been pursuing solo endeavors in music and acting along with band activities.
