Seventeen scoops up fans across Asia with its ice cream themed pop-up
An ice cream shop-themed Seventeen pop-up will open in Taipei and Hong Kong on Friday and move on to other major cities in the world, the boy band’s agency Pledis Entertainment announced on Thursday.
The pop-up store, titled “Ice Cream with Miniteen,” will open in Taipei and Hong Kong from Friday to June 28. It will then move to Tokyo from July 3 to 20 and Osaka from July 4 to 15.
Miniteens are characters designed by the band's members and were first released in September 2024.
After its Japan run, the pop-up will move to China, opening simultaneously in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou from July 11 to Aug. 2. The pop-up will extend to other major cities around the world following its China run, with the band's agency set to release more information in the future.
The Asian pop-up follows a successful 11-day run in Seongsu-dong in Seongdong District, eastern Seoul, which closed on Tuesday.
The Seoul pop-up featured an ice cream store in collaboration with the ice cream brand Softbar. Visitors were also able to enjoy a wide selection of ice cream-themed merch, such as key chains.
The pop-up also offered a photo booth where visitors could take photos.
“Ice Cream with Miniteen” is the third event in the Miniteen pop-up series.
The “Miniteen House Party” opened last June in Seoul and expanded to 24 cities, including Beijing, New York and London and drew in 280,000 visitors. The boy band also opened the "Holiday with Miniteen" pop-up in Seoul last December.
Seventeen, which comprises 13 members, debuted in May 2015 under Pledis Entertainment, which HYBE acquired in 2020. The band is known for hits such as “Very Nice” (2016), “Hot” (2022), “Super” (2023) and “Cheers to youth” (2024).
